What will be your mission as a Subject Matter Expert?
The goal is to roll-out several large scale insect production facilities worldwide in the coming years. We make this possible with an engineering team within Protix which is multidisciplinary in nature. In your role as Subject matter expert you will be part of the Engineering and Technology team. The engineering and technology team is responsible for all processes and systems within new and existing production facilities. We improve on existing BSF processes and develop new production processes to improve our competitive advantage in the future. Furthermore, we represent Protix in the client role for execution of these large scale CAPEX projects. The team consists of project engineers, technologists and subject matter experts, who together ensure a smooth functioning machine.
What will you do?
You’ll be the authority on your field of expertise by
- Advising on the long term goals and development routes, leading concept developments in line with these goals, involving the different departments like R&D and equipment development.
- Supporting brown- and greenfield projects with technical input, owning the process specifications for these projects. In case of development projects, you might act a the lead of that specific project.
- Gathering and maintaining knowledge on your subject by visiting relevant seminars and fairs, reading literature and keeping track of our competitor’s developments
- Harvesting the fruits of our internal operational knowledge and experience, by visiting our production facilities and determining feasibility of site best practice initiatives and assist to establish deployment plan across other sites
- Sharing the knowledge by providing (internal) training and developing guidelines and standards for future projects

Requirements
Who are you?
- Bachelor or Master degree, in mechanical or process engineering (or similar
- >10 years of relevant working experience
- Living in The Netherlands and fluent in English and Dutch
- Excellent analytical skills
- You are result-driven and you have a long-term focus
- Self starting and enterprising
- You work best in multidisciplinary teams
- You communicate your (new) ideas easily on different levels
- Connecting and communicating with different stakeholders and suppliers
- You are proactive, see new opportunities and dare to challenge yourself and the team
