Project Engineer

Job description

Do you want to develop new production facilities in an industry that is on the verge of taking over the food chain? Then you might be our new Project Engineer!

Project execution team

The goal is to roll-out several production facilities worldwide in the coming years. We make this possible with an engineering team within Protix which is multidisciplinary in nature. In your role as project engineer you will be part of the projects execution team. The project execution team is responsible for the design and build of our new facilities. From project kick-off up to installation and startup of the project the team is completely involved in the project. We are ambitious and plan on multiple new facilities in the coming years.

The position

As a Project Engineer you will create production facilities needed for our new insect production plants opening the coming years. Together with the rest of the engineering team you will focus on managing the technical aspects of large scale projects, such as designing and developing factory layouts. These responsibilities cover all phases of development, from brainstorming and evaluating concepts through troubleshooting and support on the factory floor. This involves design, managing the budget and timeline of your (sub)projects, and generating appropriate technical documentation (e.g. manuals, drawings, diagrams).

You can make a difference by really owning your (sub)projects and making them a success from early specification up to 100% production, and by acting as a spider in the web and getting all the input you need.

  • Bachelor or Master degree, in mechanical engineering or similar
  • 3-7 years of relevant working experience in different fields of engineering
  • Living in The Netherlands, preferably close to Protix headquarters (Dongen)

Skills and competencies

  • Results-driven and long-term focus, you keep the bigger picture in mind
  • You work best in multidisciplinary teams, but can manage your own projects excellently
  • You connect and communicate your (new) ideas easily at different levels (also with stakeholders and suppliers)
  • You are proactive, see new opportunities and dare to challenge yourself and the team
  • Great analytical skills
