Internship Insect Rheology

What will you do?

  • Join Protix for an internship period of 6 months
  • Start somewhere in period July – September 2022
  • You will be part of the Asset Development department joining the Engineering & Technology team\
  • Work with a unique and innovative product in the market; Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) puree
  • Help Protix in understanding the physical behaviour of BSFL puree
  • Investigate the effect of process parameters on the rheological behaviour of BSFL puree
  • Generate rheological data enabling good equipment design for new greenfield factory and technology optimization in existing factory
  • Define and execute your own experimental plan
  • Execute experiments mainly at Wageningen University
  • Deliver a analytical report explaining the effect of process parameters on the rheological behaviour of BSFL puree
  • Present results to multi-disciplinary audience

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Master student Food Technology at the Wageningen University;
  • Enrolled as a student for the whole duration of the internship (if you are a non-EU citizen then you must be enrolled at a Dutch University);
  • Affinity with Rheology;
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • High degree of accuracy, initiative and independency;
  • Passionate about insect industry;
